We found them while waiting the L train, but they've been as far as The New York Times. They're the
Castle Critters, and they're our special guest alongside our current show, Deer Art.
With their puppetmaster, David Marin (who studied animation at the School of Visual Arts), The Castle Critters tell us they were originally created to house all the forgotten or lost stories of every culture. They attempt to
contain tales from all times in all languages, from the trickster-spider Anansi to the baladeers of today. They search through the tales in their home, and tell them again
to new generations, with a critter twist.
They've honed their art at street level, where an audience is hardest to find. They've been invited to perform for stars of film and tv, where they had to be at their best. They are
appearing in the upcoming Apollo Circus Of Soul. They even boast a moose that sings Sinatra. They're a hidden treasure of New York, a modern day Punch & Judy and we'll be very happy to have their castle in our gallery.
Castle Critters appear on Friday, January 11th, from 7:00 until 10:00pm, alongside our current show, Deer Art. Stop in and be charmed into hysterics.
