Chadwick Whitehead, an American born in Greece in 1977, grew up mostly in Michigan. He went to collage in Chicago and Tokyo where he studied cinematography and animation. He worked on film productions, in classrooms, in cubicles, with saws, with telephones and then went back to graduate school. In 2006, he received an MFA from SVA in New York. He is currently living in Brooklyn and making images with distinct strokes. The focus is the narrative and the character of the marks. Through printmaking, he has found a gauge for reducing forms and color.
